HIGHLIGHTS

HTC will launch a new flagship Android smartphone in April.

The forthcoming HTC smartphone is said to come with “ metaverse ” features.

This will be HTC’s first flagship smartphone ever since 2018.

In 2018, HTC vended a huge portion of its smartphone manufacturing business to Google, and despite that, the company kept trying to tap into the budget member, but it didn’t find important success. The company now plans to make a comeback to the decoration member with a flagship Android smartphone that's said to come with some “ metaverse ” features.

Charles Huang, General Manager, HTC Asia Pacific, told DigiTimes( via WinFuture) that the company will unveil a “ metaverse phone ” coming month. It’s unclear what HTC means by “ metaverse phone, ” but we suspect it might come with some AR and VR capabilities. The report further suggests that the forthcoming “ metaverse phone ” would be decoration immolation, suggesting it could come with the top-of-the-line tackle to power the smartphone’s AR/ VR operations.

HTC Vive Flow AR/ VR headset

At MWC, HTC blazoned the Viverse, an open-source metaverse platform integrating the company’s Vive AR/ VR headsets. Yes, the “ metaverse phone ” sounds a bit weird, but with HTC having Vive on its side and integrating Viverse with the forthcoming smartphone, effects could fall in HTC’s favor.

HTC is taking virtual reality in a new direction moment with the movable Vive Flow immersive spectacles. The Vive Flow looks more like compact and featherlight-stoked reality spectacles, but it has a serape-around cloth hedge that creates your own particular VR quadrangle.

As similar, the spectacles are a kind of mongrel between AR and VR, and they’re meant to be worn for a longer time so that people can use them to find moments to relax, refresh, and restore.

Designed with comfort and portability in mind, Vive Flow lets people find moments of calm and well-being for themselves throughout the day, including planning with apps like Tripp, or taking a scenic, immersive drive down Route 66 with MyndVR’s original series A Road to Remember. Overall, I allowed the device was veritably well done.

Kuen Chang, head of creative labs at HTC Vive, showed me a rally unit that I wore on my head. Like other VR headsets, it transported me to another world where I got to use relaxing apps like Tripp. The spectacles are veritably featherlight and the seal is enough good with the cloth liners on the side of the spectacles. That means no light gets in from the outside to disturb you in your cinema. The spectacles were plugged in via a USB- Cline to a battery, and the spectacles synced with apps on an Android smartphone. The Vive Flow weighs6.6 ounces or about as important as a chocolate bar.

You can watch Television or pictures on your own particular, cinema-sized VR screen. You can exercise your mind with brain training apps, or unite and fraternize with associates and musketeers on Vive Sync.

“ With Vive Flow, HTC is taking technology in a new direction, fastening not on what we do, but on how we feel, ” said HTC CEO Cher Wang, in a statement. “ Maintaining our heartiness has come to the van in the last many times, with so numerous millions feeling stressed-out every day, so it has no way been more important to take time out to calm our minds, and Vive Flow provides the perfect occasion to escape our four walls and immerse ourselves in our ideal air. ”

The Vive Flow will be available in November for$ 500. A 5G Android smartphone is needed.

I tried out the XR heartiness app from Tripp, which was started by CEO Nanea Reeves to help people meditate. It was enough amazing experience, with lots of fluid movement and enough lighting. It was like being in VR with an academy of fish around me. Veritably relaxing.

With Vive Flow, you can dive into a range of immersive gests via the Viveport app store anytime, anywhere, using your Android smartphone as a regulator. You can connect wirelessly to an Android 5G smartphone and sluice content like Television shows and flicks from your favorite platforms. For mirroring decoration videotape like Television and film content from an Android smartphone, the device must support HDCP2.2.

The spectacles frame has a binary-hinge design and a soft face gasket allows it to fold down into a compact footmark for portability. Vive Flow’s hinge is designed to fit numerous different head shapes and sizes. Its face gasket takes alleviation from the accredited Vive Focus 3, with glamorous connections making it simple and quick to change out — perfect for when you want to partake.

Vive Flow also has erected- in diopter dials, allowing druggies to fluently make adaptations for demitasse clear illustrations. Its active cooling system pulls warm air down from your face, keeping you comfortable throughout the day. I allowed this was a stupendous part of the spectacles. I wear traditional spectacles, and I generally find VR headsets to be uncomfortable, so much so that I remove my spectacles and can’t see as well. But the dials enable me to find commodities close to my spectacles tradition and see more easily. Since the dials have figures on them, you can fluently remember the right setting for each eye. You can pull out the glamorous faceplate and wash your face if you need to.

Still, it was using the smartphone as a regulator, If anything was delicate to do. I tapped on the screen but occasionally it didn’t descry my touch. So I had to repeat that many times until it honored what I was trying to do.

The Vive Flow has an extensive 100- degree field of view allowing for cinematic defenses to lose themselves in HD quality content, with a sharp3.2 K resolution and a smooth 75 Hz refresh rate. Featuring full 3D spatial audio, Vive Flow delivers immersive sound and can also connect to external Bluetooth earphones. You can buy an Ah Vive power bank independently. That gives you around four or five hours of battery life.

HTC Vive is also unveiling a special Viveport subscription plan following the launch of Vive Flow. The plan is priced at$ 6 per month and gives people unlimited access to a wide range of immersive apps covering well-being, brain training, productivity, light gaming, and exclusive content like a Lo-Fi room designed to look and feel like a cozy café.
